TMJ & Sleep Dentistry

It is our privilege to help many of our patients with TMJ problems, dentistry-related sleep difficulties and bite misalignment issues that they often don’t even know they have!

Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD)

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which is right in front of either ear, creates problems when it becomes misaligned or inflamed. Symptoms that show up include:
  • Jaw pain and tenderness
  • Pain in the joint itself
  • Facial or ear pain
  • Locking jaw joint
  • Clicking noises or grating sensation when the jaw is moved
If you notice any of these symptoms, please let us know! We can help.

Snoring Prevention and Sleep Apnea

Does your mate tell you that you snore or gasp to take in air at night? This problem could be caused by “sleep apnea” which refers to temporary pauses in breathing during sleep. It can disrupt the quality of your sleep and contribute to serious illnesses. Please consult with us so we can fit you with a mouth appliance to improve your sleep.

Occlusal Disease (Bite Misalignment)

“Occlusion” refers to the way your upper teeth meet your lower teeth. When the teeth don’t meet correctly, there are excessive stresses on the teeth that can result in fractures and bone loss. We can help you overcome any occlusal problems.
